My first time using an Avocado hand mask

If you're like me, you like to unwind with an at home beauty treatment, glass of wine, and MAYBE binge watch something on Netflix. Most times I like to throw on a facial mask but guess what...I tried something new! A HAND MASK!!! Say whaaaaaaaat? Yup. Exactly what it sounds like. A mask for your hands. I had no idea such a thing exists, so guess who was super excited when I got one to try. 😜😜😜

Here's a bit about the Sephora Collection hand mask:

What it is:
A line of hand care treatments, each with a different benefit, that offers 15 minutes of pure bliss.

What it is formulated to do:
Inspired by Asian beauty rituals, the Sephora Collection hand masks provide an effective solution to meet every need. The single pair of non-drip, coated gloves will take care of your hands as you continue what you're doing. Each offers a skin-enhancing benefit.

Avocado Hand Mask: Offers intense nutrition to nourish and soothe hands.

Research results:
Avocado Hand Mask:
In a use test on 100 volunteers after 3 days of use:
- 96% felt the mask is quick and easy to use
- 97% felt hands were soft
- 97% felt the mask soothes dry and sensitive skin

I was very skeptical about using a hand mask. I didn't think I would see any results but was pleasantly surprised! Funny enough, my initial reaction was disgust. At first it felt like putting on a rubber glove that you don't realize has a hole in it. I hate the feeling of water getting trapped in the glove when I'm washing dishes, and I felt the same sensation when I put on the hand mask. My hands felt so soggy and oh so....gross. It took a few minutes to get used to the feeling and it turned out to not feel so bad. I was able to use the phone while the mask was on my hand so I wasn't completely useless lol!!!

Yup...the white glove made me feel like a cartoon character...

Once I took the hand mask off,  I rubbed the remaining serum into my hands. It felt sticky but absorbed nicely after a few minutes. It smelled great and felt very luxurious. I really noticed an immediate improvement. I had cracks between my fingers that seemed to have disappeared and my hand did feel incredibly smooth. My amazement was short lived though, because my cracks returned after washing my hands a couple times.

Have you tried a hand mask? What did you think?

June 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

My current makeup subscription box is from Ipsy. I was a bit skeptical about a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box because I didn't want to end up with a bunch of products I couldn't use or didn't know how to use. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products in a cute makeup bag, and I was sold after checking out their previous bags. If you're not very adventurous with makeup like me, it's a great way to build your makeup collection on the cheap and expand your makeup expertise!

The June Ipsy Glam Bag was super cool and I was very impressed...yet again!

I was pleased with every single item in my bag and was so excited to try them all.

In my bag:
Colourpop Creme Gel Liner
Elizabeth Mott Blush in Peach Pink
theBALM Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow
Hey Honey 24Seven Cream
clariSEA Deep Pore Detox Mask

I rate the June Ipsy Glam Bag 5/5!

The product I was most excited about (obviously) was the clariSEA Mask. As you know I LOOOOOOOOVE facial masks and was so happy when I saw that I was getting so many brands I've never heard of! THANK YOU IPSY!!

More about the products inside:

Colourpop Creme Gel Liner- I really liked this product because I've never used a creme gel liner before. I thought it was so smooth and luxurious and I was able to get a super sharp cat eye *meow!*

Elizabeth Mott Blush in Peach Pink- I love how Ipsy just knows me and knows which colours would look good on me. The EM blush was so pigmented and I will definitely buy the full size once this one is done. IN LOVE!!
theBALM Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow- Another product from a brand I've never tried before. I liked the cute name and packaging, but wasn't very impressed with the pigmentation. The colour was nice, but I needed a bit more "je ne c'est quoi"

Hey Honey 24Seven Cream- I must confess, I've never heard of Hey Honey in my life. I must have been living under a rock, because this moisturizer is the BOMB DIGGITY! I used it after I tried the clariSEA mask and my face felt super smooth right after using and even in the morning! It smelled great and the texture was so creamy. It absorbed well and wasn't greasy. My new fave!

clariSEA Deep Pore Detox Mask- I'm a bit on the fence about this mask. As you know by now I'm a sucker for pampering myself at home. I LOOOOOOOVE masking, and I was so stoked to try this mask. It spread really well and the small sample could last about 4- 5 masks. I felt a very nice tingle while the mask dried but didn't like the excessive flaking.

What did you get in your June Glam Bag? I'd love to hear from you!
