My First Time using the Nivea 2-in-1 moisturizing primer

Happy first week of spring! What a fabulous time when nature sheds the dreary layers of winter and things seem refreshed, renewed and in desperate need of a spring cleaning! I love taking the time to clear out the clutter-not only around the house, but in my makeup stash as well! While it sometimes breaks my heart to throw away expired products, I get giddy when I'm able to discover new things to add to my collection. I was lucky enough to try the new Nivea 2-in-1 moisturizing primer and micellar water from Chick Advisor- thanks very much guys :) and I'm happy to say that this was really what my dry skin needed! I got to try the formula for normal skin, but you can also find a dry to sensitive skin formula which has almond oil and calendula extract. NIIICE!!!

I liked that the moisturizing primer easily absorbed into my skin and the gel-like formula was cool to the touch. The fragrance was a bit strong for my taste, but I was very happy with the results. My skin felt instantly moisturized without feeling sticky or clogged. I used this moisturizing primer on its own as well as under makeup. I didn't notice that my makeup lasted any longer than when I don't use a primer, but I can honestly say that my skin felt nourished AFTER I took my makeup off. Sometimes my skin feels stripped or parched once I take my makeup off, but using the primer and following up with the micellar water when the night was done turned out to be really beneficial! This micellar water even got some of that stubborn lash glue (which is why I hate wearing false lashes..but anyways!) so I guess you could say that I'm a fan of these products! You can find the 2-in-1 moisturizing primer at your local beauty store for about $11. That's a fantastic value for a product that actually leaves your skin feeling and looking great!

Are you in the spring cleaning mood? What are some items that you're happy to add to your makeup and skincare arsenal? I'd love to hear from you!!

March 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

My current makeup subscription box is from Ipsy. I was a bit skeptical about a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box because I didn't want to end up with a bunch of products I couldn't use or didn't know how to use. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products in a cute makeup bag, and I was sold after checking out their previous bags. If you're not very adventurous with makeup like me, it's a great way to build your makeup collection on the cheap and expand your makeup expertise!

The March 2017 glam bag theme is TrĂ©s Jolie and I'm in love with the bag this month! This was the first time I got a clutch that featured a flip over design. I've been obsessed with rose gold for a while and I'm thrilled this bag is not only pink, but has a rose gold zipper. So pretty!! This is definitely a redemption from last month's horrid bag design.  I'm not too disappointed with the selection this month, but I'm not exactly thrilled.

In my bag:

Eyeko Fat Brow Liner

Neogen coconut milk cleanser
Cake Beauty body mousse
Tarte lip paint
Elizabeth Mott blending brush

I was most happy to see the Neogen coconut milk cleanser since I'm all about discovering new brands. I rate the March Ipsy Glam Bag a 3/5!

More about the products inside:

Eyeko Fat Brow Liner- I was a bit underwhelmed with this product. I didn't like the formula and I didn't see much difference when I used this on my brows. I got the shade "light to medium" and maybe if I got a darker shade I would have seen better results. At first use, my brows looked and felt wet. The liner did dry, but it was the wrong colour and didn't blend well with my dark brows. I'll most likely use this as an eyeliner for days when I don't want to use black :)

Neogen coconut milk cleanser- I really liked this cleanser. It smells fantastic and left my skin feeling clean, but not stripped. I like using gel cleansers like this one because my face feels moisturized and fresh! A must try for anyone that looking for a mild but effective cleanser.

Cake Beauty body mousse- I was excited to try this "mousse" since I have really dry skin. I didn't see much difference with this mousse and other Cake Beauty lotions, so don't fall for the gimmick! It's truthfully just a lotion. It does smell great and offers a ton of moisture. I liked that it absorbed quickly and didn't leave my skin feeling greasy.

Tarte lip paint- I love Tarte products. Like love, love, love Tarte so very much and you can just imagine how thrilled I was with this new colour. Thanks a million Ipsy!! I really like the formula of this lip paint and if you're looking for something that's not too glossy, but not too matte then this product is for you!

Elizabeth Mott blending brush- This brush is super cute! It's a synthetic brush so there was no shedding and only needed a tiny bit of product to get the job done. I LIKEY!!!

What did you get in your March Glam Bag? I'd love to hear from you!
