CURRENT OBSESSION- Eau Thermale Avène (Tinted Mineral Sunscreen)

Light and "barely there" makeup has always been my first love...with a killer winged liner and gloss of course! In my last post I told you about my love for Eau Thermale Avène- the brand that has never disappointed. I got to try so many Avène goodies from the Langton PR team that I wanted to highlight my new favourite makeup routine featuring the high protection SPF50+ tinted mineral sunscreen. I'm thrilled to find a brand (that I already know is amazing) that also offers mineral sunscreen with an SPF 50+! A huge thanks to Langton PR for hooking me up with these awesome goodies just in time for summer! My tinted mineral kit included- three shades of the high protection mineral sunscreen and the thermal spring water spray.

Here's my "barely there" face. No editing, just real skin :)
The complex correction shield SPF 50+ is a broad spectrum formula. You'll remember I told you all about SPF a few posts back and why you should look for products that say "broad spectrum" because that's where you'll get the best coverage. The term SPF usually refers to the amount of UVB protection it provides so you'll need a product like the complex correction shield to provide protection from both UVA and UVB rays when you're in the sun.

At first use, I was impressed with this formula because tinted moisturizers have always been my first beauty love. A long long time ago I wouldn't wear anything other than tinted moisturizer, partly because it was the safest choice and I wasn't as adventurous with makeup as I am now.

This feels like a tinted moisturizer but blends even better! You can really get variable coverage for healthy looking skin with this sunscreen. I used a tiny bit of "dark" with twice as much "medium" to get my perfect shade. A little bit of the mixture spread very well and I love that I got sun protection as well as a skin loving formula. This sunscreen was hydrating and long lasting. I even used this under my eyes and was impressed that there was minimal creasing. I felt good knowing I was using a product with no fragrance, no parabens, and no oil. I got a more even complexion and did feel radiant! I'm happy to add this sunscreen to my daily routine :) I didn't realize how important sun safety was until recently and I'm happy to have discovered this amazing mineral sunscreen.

On hot days, there's nothing better than feeling light and not bogged down by makeup, so I was happy to get the thermal spring water since I'm a huge fan of mists. The spray bottle is super convenient to bring along on bike rides or trips to the beach and was a great way to keep the entire family cool on hot days. This spray is not only for anyone looking to cool down. It would also be useful to use after sunburns, for diaper rashes or skin irritations, after shaving, after a workout or even as a facial mist. My kids used this during a bike ride on a really hot day so it's safe for kids or anyone with sensitive skin. I also love that it's non drying.

There are more ways now than ever to beat the heat, and this mist is just one way I love cooling down. Tell me, what are some ways you practise sun safety and plan on beating the heat this summer? Let me know in the comments...I'd love to hear from you!

CURRENT OBSESSION- Eau Thermale Avène (Les Essentiels)

Once in a while you come across a brand that you just don't know how you survived for so long without them. I discovered Eau Thermale Avène a few years ago after a recommendation from my dermatologist. It's no secret if you've been reading along that I have dry spots on my legs that seem to get so angry a couple times a year. I have so many spots on my legs it sometimes makes me feel self conscious. Thank the heavens that I got my dry skin under control with the help of the Avène Xeracalm lotion. My skin was in great condition after just a few uses and since I was hooked on this brand, I was over the moon when I got to try some of the other products from the Avène brand thanks to the wonderful Langton Communications team. A huge thanks to Langton PR for hooking me up with these awesome goodies!

I got to try the "Les Essentiels" radiant skin care kit that included the Radiance serum, Refreshing eye contour care, and Intense eye makeup remover. One thing I love about the brand is that the formula is always on point. Even though there are complex active ingredients in each product, you can always expect a smooth formula that is easily absorbed into the skin. The Refreshing eye contour care is touted as the ideal product for tired sensitive eyes and since I started using this cream I did notice an improvement in puffiness and dark circles. One thing that I thought would never go away was my dehydration lines under my eyes. I'm thrilled to report that I can now wear less concealer because the skin under my eyes looks way better than it did a few weeks ago. That could be because in combination with the Radiance serum, my skin went through a much needed change that benefitted from pre-tocopheryl (powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals), red fruit extract (boosts cellular energy and strengthens skin barrier), and so many other skin loving ingredients. When I use the eye contour care and radiance serum as part of my nightly routine, I wake up to hydrated and glowing skin. The precision tip applicator makes it easy to get the product in the exact spot I need. I'm so in love!

Not only are these products great for people looking to revive tired skin, the entire range is ideal for people with sensitive skin. Even though the eye makeup remover has no surfactants, it really does get ALL the makeup off in just a couple swipes so it's perfect for people with sensitive skin since it's formulated with thermal spring water. Eau Thermale Avène really does have something for everyone and if you're looking for products that are effective, check out what other products they have to offer here https://www.eau-thermale-avene.ca/en_CA and I love that you can also find this brand at any Shoppers Drug Mart- PC Optimum points junkie right here!!

I love feeling radiant thanks to these Avène products :) These are just a few of my summertime essentials, so tell me...what are some things you can't live without this summer? Let me know in the comments!!

SUBSCRIPTION BOX REVIEW- Simply Beautiful Box *Summer 2018*

It's finally OFFICIALLY summer! Cue the trips to the beach, cold drinks on the patio, and afternoon ice cream treats! I don't know about you, but my family loves to take advantage of every last bit of warm weather by being outside as much as we can. That's why having the right summertime essentials make packing up the car for road trips that much easier. I was thrilled to get the summer Simply Beautiful Box from the lovely BC Living team, the same team that curated the Extraordinary Man Box. This box was filled to the brim with some fantastic travel essentials for summer and I can't wait to use all these goodies on my adventures this year.

In the box:

Mytagalongs charger case
Stripped Southern Comfort feminine wash
Lark & Ives Wanderlust pin set
Simply Beautiful nautical beach tote
Maskeraide sheet masks
Nayelle Rejuvenate night cream
Blush Pony makeup bag

My favourite item would be the beach tote because I'm a sucker for cute bags AND its the perfect size for quick trips to the park or beach. This box is valued at $180 CAD (yes...really!) and is a great deal if you're looking for some useful items to refresh your summer essentials. There were 7 items in the summer 2018 box and each item will be well loved. I'm really impressed with the wide variety of products!

More about the products inside:

Mytagalongs charger case- I complain to my hubby all the time about the many chargers I need for my various devices and even though it's super annoying, at least I now have a cute bag to keep them all in one place! I never realized how convenient it is to have a pouch with pockets for all the little plugs and chords I need when I'm travelling. It's the perfect size for daily use as well and the quartz agate design will give you some added style points too!

Stripped Southern Comfort feminine wash- I love feeling fresh and if you've been following along on Instagram, you know how important my evening cleansing routine is. This feminine wash is specially formulated  with probiotics for your delicate lady parts. It's got a light floral scent and I'm happy to add this to my nightly routine.

Lark & Ives Wanderlust pin set- I really love these pins because they can be used in many ways. Not only can you use them to pin up your favourite summer memories that you eventually get around to printing, you can make your favourite accessories extra glam by using the butterfly backing to keep them in place. LOVE!!

Simply Beautiful nautical beach tote- There's just something about this classic striped tote that says "we're going to the beach!!" and I'm loving it so so much. Not only is it super stylish, it's equally functional. I love the wide base and coated lining so I know I wont have a hard time cleaning up any inevitable spills or messes. The straps are durable and offers a comfortable way to carry all your summer swag with ease.

Maskeraide sheet masks- I first used the Maskeraide masks during a road trip a couple years ago. I was so thankful to have the eye patches for the trip since the AC can be so drying. These sheet masks are just as good as I remember them, full of skin loving ingredients like Argan oil, aloe leaf extract, and niacinamide. I prefer fibre masks over gel masks because they fit better and a more comfortable. Maskeraide sheet masks are made from TENCEL, which is a 100% biodegradable cellulosic fibre that improves absorbency. These masks really are a must try if you're looking for a travel friendly mask.

Nayelle Rejuvenate night cream- I was really surprised to see this full size cream in the Simply Beautiful Box. This cream is formulated with probiotic goat milk peptides, fermented sea kelp, glacial oceanic clay, and snow mushroom. I love that these ingredients are full of proteins, essential fatty acids, and minerals and vitamins. There are a ton of antioxidants that also help slow the aging process and replenish the skin. I used this cream a few times and did notice a subtle improvement but it's too soon to tell if this product will make it's way into my regular skin care routine. Keep an eye out for a full review of this cream :)

Blush Pony makeup bag- Super trendy and useful are two words I'd use to describe this makeup bag and I can fit EVERYTHING in it! This would be perfect for anyone that needs a little upgrade (and let's be honest, even if you don't it's still worth it) and new bags always remind me that it's time to throw out the old and bring in the new anyway. When was the last time you went through your old makeup, ladies??? If you haven't tossed out your old makeup in the last six months, I suggest you get a trendy new makeup bag like this one and get to updating your summer makeup stash ASAP!

If you love this haul and want to see what the amazing team at BC Living has to offer, check out their website at https://www.bcliving.ca/The-Simply-Beautiful-Subscription-Box and tell me, what's your fave seasonal subscription box? I'd love to hear from you!!

SPF- Understanding How Sunscreen Works

It's that time of year folks, when we are bombarded with reminders to lather on the sunscreen and see shelf after shelf of various sun protection brands in the stores. We've all heard about SPF and the various numbers that may follow those three letters, but what does it actually all mean?

SPF stands for sun protection factor and is a general measure of how long that particular sunscreen will protect you from ultraviolet (UV) B rays. UVB rays are different than UVA rays so it's important to get sun protection that is broad spectrum to help protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

So whats the difference anyway?

UVA rays are longer than UVB rays and can reach deeper into your skin's dermal layer. This can cause damage to collagen and elastic tissue. The damage caused by UVA rays is what gives skin that tanned look. Did you know that a tan is actually the skin's way of trying to prevent further damage? This attempt can lead to cell mutations which can trigger skin cancer. Not good.

UVB rays are the main cause of sunburn and can be difficult to gauge since the wavelength distribution of UVB rays can vary throughout the day. Even though there's no sunscreen that can block 100% of UVB rays, you can try your best by understanding some simple math. It's important to remember that the SPF number you see refers mainly to the amount of UVB protection it provides.

SPF 15 can block 93% of UVB rays
SPF 30 can block 97% of UVB rays

SPF 50 can block 98% of UVB rays
SPF 100 can block 99%  of UVB rays

(Anything higher than SPF 100 is a gimmick and won't offer any better protection than products with a lower SPF. Reapplication is key!)

As you can see, SPF 30 does not mean twice as much protection as SPF 15. To further understand these measurements, you'll be pleased to know that tests have been performed to determine a sunscreen's SPF by seeing how long someone can be in the sun before they start burning. The test is then redone with sunscreen applied and the "with sunscreen" number is divided by the "without sunscreen" number then rounded down to the nearest five to determine the SPF.

If you want to figure out how long you can be in the sun with a given SPF, try using this simple equation:

Minutes it usually takes to burn without sunscreen x SPF number
= maximum sun exposure time

Generally speaking, if your skin begins to burn after 10 minutes of sun exposure without any protections, an SPF 30 sunscreen provides 30 times the protection than wearing no sunscreen at all. You can also count this as 300 minutes or five hours of protection before you begin to burn. If you have darker skin and take longer to burn than other fair skinned people, don't think you could do a day at the beach without layering on the sunscreen! While it's true the melanin in darker skin provides a natural protective layer from the sun, it isn't enough to forego proper sun safety.

Did you know that any scars or discolouration will get worse with increased sun exposure?  That's one reason why EVERYONE should wear sunscreen. Yes I said it, every single person SHOULD. WEAR. SUNSCREEN.

You'd think the higher the SPF, the longer you can stay outside in the sun without getting burned right? Only in ideal situations of course. Many people forget that being outside also means being active. If you don't reapply your sunscreen after sweating or exposure to water, you will almost certainly suffer some damage. Regardless of the SPF factor, you should be reapplying every couple hours just to be on the safe side. A single application just won't cut it if you're going to be outside all day.

So tell me...how are other ways you protect your skin? I love wearing wide rimmed hats and staying in the shade as much as possible. Let me know how you enjoy the summer sun in a safe way. I'd love to hear from you!

SUBSCRIPTION BOX REVIEW- Extraordinary Man Box *Summer 2018*

I saw a funny picture the other day that showed one person complaining about the heat and another person saying "shut up...we just had 8 months of winter!!" I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the heat and the summer 2018 Extraordinary Man Box is bringing the fire this summer. In case you missed my last review, the Extraordinary Man Box is great for getting some seasonal goodies to try and is perfect if you like a little seasonal lifestyle refresh.

In the box:

Stoüt Face Care daily SPF cream
Haupy's beaver rub seasoning
Scentuals facial toner
Walter's Shoe Care outsole scrub
Stripped Wax Bar deodorizing spray
Avventura lightweight hammock

My favourite item would be the Avventura hammock (because duh...it's a freaking compact hammock that you can take just about anywhere.) This box is valued at $147 CAD and is a great deal if you're looking for some useful summatime items to add to your collection. There were only 6 items in the summer 2018 box but has a greater value than the last box. I'm really impressed!

More about the products inside:

Stoüt Face Care daily SPF cream- This cream is a must have if you're going to be outdoors this summer. If you've been a long time reader, you know how much I love skin care products so my inner skin care nerd was giddy when I saw this cream. Not only did this product smell great, its packed with skin loving ingredients like Evening Primrose Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter and Jojoba oil. I was surprised to learn that the formula contains Zinc Oxide 9.8% which makes for a "safer" sunscreen since it's a non-toxic way to protect the skin. It absorbed quickly and left almost no residue. There are two sizes available and subscribers to the EMB got the larger size so you'll be protected from the sun for a loonggggg time :)

Haupy's beaver rub seasoning- A first sniff I was sure that this rub was going to be delicious, and of course, what better way to celebrate the upcoming Canada Day holiday than with a beaver rub right?! This rub can be used on all sorts of meats and is surprisingly 100% vegetarian.  It's also MSG free and low in sodium so you can feel good using this on meats, seafood, veggies, marinades and all sorts of food that might benefit from a little seasoning.

Scentuals facial toner- I love products that are handcrafted because I know it's more likely to have been made with care. That's why I love the Scentuals brand. This toner balances skin's pH while rejuvenating, soothing and purifying the skin. It's alcohol free so it's gentle enough to be used throughout the day. Of course I had to try this toner on myself and even though its formulated for men, it's gentle enough for my skin.

Walter's Shoe Care outsole scrub- Usually we stay away from white shoes because you know...white shoes don't stay white for long!! I love that the summer EMB featured a wide range of lifestyle items and including an item for shoes was a nice touch. This outsole scrub has a brush applicator for mess free cleaning. We loooove!

Stripped Wax Bar deodorizing spray- This spray is quite nice and refreshing to use. It's got a barely there scent and left the skin feeling moisturized. Since it's deodorizing, I tested it under my arms and worked really well as an under arm spray. This would be great to have as a mid day pick me up and would be perfect for leaving in the car or your office.

Avventura lightweight hammock- I was really surprised with how light yet durable this hammock is. We love going camping in the summer and it's nice to have a hammock that folds neatly so it doesn't take up too much room in our bags. There are durable ties and carabiners attached so you can use this almost anywhere. We are looking forward to using this on many adventures this summer.

I'm very pleased with this box and would recommend getting the subscription for any special guy that might need a little lifestyle update. Don't miss out on this great box!

Check out the EMB at https://www.bcliving.ca/Buy-the-Extraordinary-Man-Box and let me know how you're getting ready for a new season in the comments. I'd love to hear from you!

June 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

I have been an Ipsy subscriber for over two years, and at first I was a bit skeptical about a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box because I didn't want to end up with a bunch of products I couldn't use or didn't know how to use. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products in a cute makeup bag, and I was sold after checking out their previous bags. If you're not very adventurous with makeup like me, it's a great way to build your makeup collection on the cheap and expand your makeup expertise!

The June 2018 glam bag theme was Flying Colours and I'm really happy with the selection of products for the month. I got a few of my favourite brands and the bag design is really cute and simple. Ipsy has been stepping up their game and I'm here for it!

In my bag:
Soo AE charcoal clay bubble masks
Luxie Beauty small shader brush
Dr Lili Fan probiotic eye repair cream
Beauty for Real eyeliner in In the Navy
MAC Little Lipglass in Nymphette
BONUS Vasanti Cosmetics concealer buffer brush

It's always such a nice treat to redeem points for goodies and I was lucky enough to snag the Vasanti buffer brush before it sold out! This was the first time I've seen something from Dr Lili Fan but I'll never say no to new skin care:) I rate the June Ipsy Glam Bag a 5/5!

Click here to sign up with Ipsy and get your very own Glam Bag!

More about the products inside:

Soo AE charcoal clay bubble masks- I've been a Soo AE fan for a while now and I was thrilled to get the bubble masks in my bag because I already know how awesome they are. The Ipsy samples are smaller than the original size but there's still enough product to get a good layer on your face. The Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask was really fun to use. I have tried all sorts of bubble masks but the Soo AE bubble mask has Binchotan charcoal, kaolin clay and bentonite clay for an amazing purified feeling after you rinse it off. The bubbles weren't overwhelming like other bubble masks I've tried and actually smells ok. That could be because Binchotan charcoal (also known as white charcoal) was traditionally used by Japanese chefs because it does not release unpleasant odours when used for cooking. My skin was left feeling thoroughly clean and fresh. Read my thoughts about some of the other Soo AE masks here

Luxie Beauty small shader brush- I really like Luxie brushes and this small shader brush is perfect for travelling. I love how soft Luxie brushes are and since its synthetic, it's perfect for all sorts of makeup applications.

Dr Lili Fan probiotic eye repair cream- At first I was excited to try this cream, but I was a bit disappointed with the amount (or lack) of product inside. The small jar was less than half full so I don't think I'd be able to offer up a proper review. At first use I noticed a strong fragrance and I was a underwhelmed with the formula since it did sting/burn for a few seconds before being absorbed. It absorbed well and left my skin soft immediately after use, but it's too soon to tell if this is something I'd want to add to my regular routine. I don't fancy using products that make my skin feel like its burning :(

Beauty for Real eyeliner in In the Navy- One of the reasons I love being an Ipsy subscriber is because I get to discover new brands I wouldn't normally buy. This was my first introduction to the Beauty for Real brand and I must say, my first impression is very positive. This waterproof liner is long lasting yet smooth so I didn't have to reapply midday. I've been loving blue hues lately so it was a treat to get this shade in my bag. It's a retractable pencil so there's no need to worry about sharpening and if you know me, you know how much I love things that are convenient like this product!

MAC Little Lipglass in Nymphette- I remember my first lipstick purchase I ever made for myself was a MAC lipgloss. I thought I was so cool wearing MAC products when I was a pre-teen so I always get nostalgic with this brand. With just one coat, you'll get a lovely shimmer on your lips. The formula is on point and my lips felt so nourished thanks to the jojoba oil :) This product can be used on its own or over lipstick to give that lacquered effect.

BONUS Vasanti Cosmetics concealer buffer brush- For the longest time I couldn't figure out why my under eye area was creasing so much after wearing makeup for a few hours. I realized that not only was I not setting the area with a setting powder, I was using the wrong brush. Such an amateur move right?! I was thrilled to get the Vasanti concealer brush by redeeming my Ipsy points and I swear on all that is good that this brush has changed my life! I used this brush to set my under eye area after putting on my makeup and expected to see the usual smile lines and creases within hours after applying, but to my surprise, there were none!  I can't believe I went so long without this brush. It is the perfect size for buffing powder onto my eye contour and I felt good knowing its cruelty free. If you're like me and get horrible creases under your eyes, you might want to try setting your makeup and under eye area with a proper concealer buffer brush like the one I used.

I was happy with the June glam bag and can't wait to see what July has in store! Tell me...did you get the June Ipsy bag? I'd love to hear from you!

June 2018 Boxycharm Review

After being a loyal subscriber to Ipsy for over two years, I decided it was time to give another makeup subscription box a chance. Boxycharm is similar to Ipsy. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products delivered right to your door, and I was sold after checking out their previous boxes. If you're not very adventurous with makeup like me, it's a great way to build your makeup collection on the cheap and expand your makeup expertise!

The June 2018 Boxycharm theme was Caribbean Queen and this just might be my favourite box so far. The box was almost bursting at the seams, and I was delighted to get the Alamar palette that I've been eyeing since its release a couple months ago.

In my box:

Alamar Reina Del Caribe eyeshadow palette
Battington Monroe silk lashes
Luxie 3 piece Flawless Complexion set
Jonteblu waterproof eyeliner pencil
Sol de Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum cream
Ofra liquid lipstick

I'm also very happy to get the lashes since I wanted to get better at putting them on. Most of the time I just give up and put on extra mascara when I can't be bothered with putting falsies on, but I really like the way they look when you take pictures. I rate the June Boxycharm box a 5/5.

Click here to sign up with Boxycharm to get a haul like this for yourself!

More about the products inside:

Alamar Reina Del Caribe eyeshadow palette- I was thrilled to see that this box featured the first palette from Alamar Cosmetics. I was expecting nothing short of amazing! I was really impressed with how intense yet smooth the metallic shades were, but I noticed I needed to use a lot of product to see some pigment with the matte shades. Once I figured out how much I needed to use, the mattes blended nicely so be warned that there is a bit of a learning curve with this palette.

You'll notice that the first four shades have a water drop icon next to the name. This means that the shade can be used with a wet brush. The last four shades have a sun icon next to the name, which means that these shades should be used with a dry brush. Out of all the palettes I received from Boxycharm, this one is in my top five because of it's versatility and fantastic pigment once you get the hang of it.

Battington Monroe silk lashes- I love looking glamorous, but there is a such thing as too much glam which is why I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to falsies. That's why I love the Battington Monroe silk lashes because they look natural but still soft. I usually don't splurge on falsies so knowing this pair can last up to 25 applications is very useful. I like that these lashes are 100% silk and really adds volume and length without being too dramatic.

Luxie 3 piece Flawless Complexion set- I've gotten so many Luxie brushes in the past little while, but I'm certainly not complaining. This 3 piece set includes some must haves for your beauty bag. I got the foundation face brush, highlighting face brush, and fibre powder brush. Luxie brushes are cruelty free and are always super soft. LOVE!

Jonteblu waterproof eyeliner pencil- There's something about a simple eyeliner pencil that is just so comforting. Maybe it's because there's no fuss and almost no experience required! I like Jonteblu eyeliner pencils because they are so creamy and pigmented. The pencil glides across my lids with very little effort. It can't get any better than that!

Sol de Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum cream- I was impressed with the formula of this cream and the fragrance is so so heavenly since it's a mix of pistachio and salted caramel. The sample is a bit small so I don't think I'd get much use out of it. If you're looking for a luxe all over body cream than this is a must try. It absorbed well and has so many skin loving ingredients like coconut oil, guarana extract, açaí oil and more.

Ofra liquid lipstick- I've become very picky with my liquid lipsticks lately but I was happy to try something new. I've heard so much about the Ofra brand and I was already a fan of the brand from when I got the Ofra blush from another box a while back. The formula is exceptional and I like the doe-foot applicator because I'm a fan of clean, sharp lines when it comes to lip products.

The June box is my favourite box from Boxycharm so far this year :) Tell me, fellow charmers...did you like your June box? If so tell me what your fave item from the box was and why. I'd love to hear from you!

My First Time using Joa Bath and Body

More and more I'm realizing how important it is to spoil yourself and make "down time" or "me time" a priority. There are so many simple ways to treat yourself and one of my favourite ways is with luxe bath and body products. I find vanilla and lavender scented products so calming and I'm always on the hunt for new bath bombs to love. I got a lovely package from the Joa Bath and Body team and I couldn't be happier to test these goodies and offer my review for you to enjoy.

I got to try:

Juicy Lip Balm
Indulgence body souffle
Decadence, Wholesome, and Retreat soaps
2 large bath bombs

When I first opened the box I was impressed with how lovely everything smelled. It wasn't an overbearing fragrance, but I did notice a soapy but pleasant aroma. The packaging is really cute and I loved the gentle reminder to "be good to yourself". Oh yes, I really needed to see this message today and I hope anyone reading this can take a moment to do exactly that after reading this review! Joa Bath and Body is a Canadian brand that started in 2008. All products are made in small batches on site and is 100% vegetarian. The honey and beeswax used are ethically harvested and I can really see the amount of care that went into making these products.

The first soap I used was the Wholesome oatmeal and honey soap. After getting the bar wet, I made a really nice lather that spread easily. This soap has many skin loving oils like soybean oil, olive oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and castor oil. There are also large pieces of oatmeal throughout the bar which offers exfoliation as well as a nice massage. This felt so nice when I rubbed it on my back (insert drool emoji here!) This is one of the most luxurious soaps I've ever used and if you've been a long time reader, you know how much I loooooove anything with honey in it. My skin felt really moisturized after using this soap, which is saying a lot because I find some bar soaps to be really drying. A lot of times I don't feel clean after using bar soaps which is why I like using a loofah and body wash. After using the Wholesome bath soap I felt clean but not stripped. This is an all natural soap formulated without essential oils, so if you have sensitive skin, or are looking for a nourishing and exfoliating soap then this one is sure to please!

After rinsing, I followed up my Joa Bath and Body experience with the Indulgence body souffle. As the name implies, this product is super luxe and oh so buttery. It took me a moment to take in the lavender and vanilla scent, but once I rubbed it on my skin it seemed to get a bit lighter and slightly sweet. It absorbed well into my skin and offered lots of nourishment. I liked that there was no residue left on my fingers and since one of the main ingredients is shea butter, I know my skin will feel good for a while! To my surprise, I noticed my skin the next morning was still hydrated!

I also got the Retreat and Decadence soaps and surprise, surprise...I'll be giving some Joa Bath and Body products away in my next giveaway so stay tuned to see what it will be... (yes, you're hearing about it here first!)

Bath bombs are a fun way to add a little luxury to your bath and I sometimes prefer bath bombs over bubbles because my skin feels softer. The Joa Bath and Body bath bombs were the perfect size for myself as well my little ones to enjoy. The half spheres were just enough to fill the tub with refreshing suds. These bath bombs are sodium bicarbonate based which means they're great for anyone looking to detox while in the bathtub. Sodium bicarbonate (or baking soda) can help relieve itching, remove bacteria and odours, help skin irritations and infections, and is naturally anti-fungal. My little ones sometimes get eczema flair ups on their legs so I like letting them have an oatmeal bath or the occasional bath bomb like the Joa Bath and Body ones I got to try.

If you want to learn more about what Joa Bath and Body has to offer, check out the website https://www.joabathandbody.com/. For a limited time you can get 10% off your  first purchase :) What are some ways you like to spoil yourself?
