June 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

I have been an Ipsy subscriber for over two years, and at first I was a bit skeptical about a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box because I didn't want to end up with a bunch of products I couldn't use or didn't know how to use. Each month you get full size or deluxe-sized products in a cute makeup bag, and I was sold after checking out their previous bags. If you're not very adventurous with makeup like me, it's a great way to build your makeup collection on the cheap and expand your makeup expertise!

The June 2018 glam bag theme was Flying Colours and I'm really happy with the selection of products for the month. I got a few of my favourite brands and the bag design is really cute and simple. Ipsy has been stepping up their game and I'm here for it!

In my bag:
Soo AE charcoal clay bubble masks
Luxie Beauty small shader brush
Dr Lili Fan probiotic eye repair cream
Beauty for Real eyeliner in In the Navy
MAC Little Lipglass in Nymphette
BONUS Vasanti Cosmetics concealer buffer brush

It's always such a nice treat to redeem points for goodies and I was lucky enough to snag the Vasanti buffer brush before it sold out! This was the first time I've seen something from Dr Lili Fan but I'll never say no to new skin care:) I rate the June Ipsy Glam Bag a 5/5!

More about the products inside:

Soo AE charcoal clay bubble masks- I've been a Soo AE fan for a while now and I was thrilled to get the bubble masks in my bag because I already know how awesome they are. The Ipsy samples are smaller than the original size but there's still enough product to get a good layer on your face. The Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask was really fun to use. I have tried all sorts of bubble masks but the Soo AE bubble mask has Binchotan charcoal, kaolin clay and bentonite clay for an amazing purified feeling after you rinse it off. The bubbles weren't overwhelming like other bubble masks I've tried and actually smells ok. That could be because Binchotan charcoal (also known as white charcoal) was traditionally used by Japanese chefs because it does not release unpleasant odours when used for cooking. My skin was left feeling thoroughly clean and fresh. Read my thoughts about some of the other Soo AE masks here

Luxie Beauty small shader brush- I really like Luxie brushes and this small shader brush is perfect for travelling. I love how soft Luxie brushes are and since its synthetic, it's perfect for all sorts of makeup applications.

Dr Lili Fan probiotic eye repair cream- At first I was excited to try this cream, but I was a bit disappointed with the amount (or lack) of product inside. The small jar was less than half full so I don't think I'd be able to offer up a proper review. At first use I noticed a strong fragrance and I was a underwhelmed with the formula since it did sting/burn for a few seconds before being absorbed. It absorbed well and left my skin soft immediately after use, but it's too soon to tell if this is something I'd want to add to my regular routine. I don't fancy using products that make my skin feel like its burning :(

Beauty for Real eyeliner in In the Navy- One of the reasons I love being an Ipsy subscriber is because I get to discover new brands I wouldn't normally buy. This was my first introduction to the Beauty for Real brand and I must say, my first impression is very positive. This waterproof liner is long lasting yet smooth so I didn't have to reapply midday. I've been loving blue hues lately so it was a treat to get this shade in my bag. It's a retractable pencil so there's no need to worry about sharpening and if you know me, you know how much I love things that are convenient like this product!

MAC Little Lipglass in Nymphette- I remember my first lipstick purchase I ever made for myself was a MAC lipgloss. I thought I was so cool wearing MAC products when I was a pre-teen so I always get nostalgic with this brand. With just one coat, you'll get a lovely shimmer on your lips. The formula is on point and my lips felt so nourished thanks to the jojoba oil :) This product can be used on its own or over lipstick to give that lacquered effect.

BONUS Vasanti Cosmetics concealer buffer brush- For the longest time I couldn't figure out why my under eye area was creasing so much after wearing makeup for a few hours. I realized that not only was I not setting the area with a setting powder, I was using the wrong brush. Such an amateur move right?! I was thrilled to get the Vasanti concealer brush by redeeming my Ipsy points and I swear on all that is good that this brush has changed my life! I used this brush to set my under eye area after putting on my makeup and expected to see the usual smile lines and creases within hours after applying, but to my surprise, there were none!  I can't believe I went so long without this brush. It is the perfect size for buffing powder onto my eye contour and I felt good knowing its cruelty free. If you're like me and get horrible creases under your eyes, you might want to try setting your makeup and under eye area with a proper concealer buffer brush like the one I used.

I was happy with the June glam bag and can't wait to see what July has in store! Tell me...did you get the June Ipsy bag? I'd love to hear from you!
